DeLorean DMC-12 VIN16606's Journey

Today I went (with Marty and Doc) to Wheels In Motion, part of Blackboots, in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, to have my wheel alignment performed

Ever since I first had the car in my possession from December 2016 my interior dome lights have never functioned correctly.

I’ve always wanted Raised White Letter (RWL) tyres on my DeLorean, even though that is not how the cars left the factory in Dunmurray.

Finally, after a couple of years, an oil leak from the transmission, that has gradually got worse, is to be fixed.

I decided to take the D on a pharmacy run to Sainsbury’s for its first ride since Lockdown, and probably some time before that.

This is somewhat embarrassing, but I thought I would share in case someone else believes they have the same issue and can't see the solution

After a DeLorean hiatus since August last year I’m finally getting back to my blog.

This weekend I’m tackling a couple of basic jobs I’ve been meaning to do for sometime.

Having purchased the D-Reverse kit well over a year ago I finally got around to installing it today.

Having had the idea to fit my previously purchased fire extinguishers I finally had the time to do it today.

This afternoon I took 16606 out for a spin for the first time in several weeks.

Whilst I had the driver’s side door cards off to investigate the reason for the door jam I decided to do a few additional jobs.

Learning that my front tires were wearing on the inside edge I set about getting recommendations for having 16606s wheels aligned.

After returning home last Saturday from the MOT I got out of 16606 to open the garage door...

No lay in for me today. I was booked in first at a local garage to have the MOT test performed.

So it’s almost a year since I took possession of 16606 following restoration by Chris Nicholson of PJ Grady Europe.

I intended Sunday 5th November to be the day for me to fit my newly purchased Ferodo FDB822 angled handbrake pads.

This weekend I decided to tackle the one thing that could cause me to fail my imminent MoT, due in November.

It’s been a while since I decided to attempt my door card restoration.
