DeLorean DMC-12 VIN16606's Journey

Today I collected 16606 from Chris in Canvey Island and drove her home.

Yesterday the new number plates arrived at Chris’s workshop. He fitted them and began some road testing.

16606 has its new, UK registration (see below).

On Friday I received the MOT certificate from Chris N so this morning I took out insurance.

Great news received today from Chris. 16606 went for it’s MOT and passed first time. Chris reported that it is handling well on the road.

On Thursday 27th I paid Chris N a visit since I was off work for half-term holidays. The car has come a long way an is nearing completion.

Come this Thursday Chris should receive the front and rear bumpers back from the paint shop.

I received the latest parts order list from Chris N and promptly ordered it.

This will be a brief update. The centre console is at the trimmers. Wheels and tyres are fitted...

Beautiful Stainless...

Chris is currently in the USA for some DeLorean focused work. Until he returns he has provided a quick update.

I received an update today from Chris. It would appear that the fuel metering head which I had rebuilt by DeLorean Europe is not working.

It had been two months since I had last visited PJ Grady and 16606. Chris had prepared her so that we could attempt to start the engine.

I received the following update today following a small break that also allowed for Chris to attend the Eurofest 2016 meet in Belfast.

Following my visit to see 16606 on Tuesday 19th further ad hoc parts were identified as required which I’ve now purchased.

Today I went to Canvey Island to visit 16606 for probably the final time before I drive her home.
