DeLorean DMC-12 VIN16606's Journey

I’ve found a website that provides periodic AIS coordinates for vessels and have therefore managed to obtain this data for the KL Express.

Even though I don’t have a paid subscription, the nice people at marinetraffic.com have sent me a screen shot of the track of the KL Express

So 16606 is still in transit and I’ve found some tools that allow me to follow the vessels progress.

16606 has set sail.

I may not have the car yet but the indoor car cover arrived today!

16606 has received US Customs export clearance and it is presently being loaded into a container.

I’ve been contacted by the shipping company today to tell me that the car is ready to move!

Received and update today, yay! The update is there’s no update, d’oh!

The latest update on the movement of 16606 from Ohio to the UK is in. Presently she is at the container terminal in New Jersey.

Chris Nicholson confirmed to me yesterday that 16606 was picked up in the morning. She is now on the back of a truck and heading to the Port

So just heard that the transportation of 16606, from DMC Midwest to the docks in NJ, is with a trucking company and awaiting pick-up.

So considering 16606 was back at DMC Midwest by 25th June not much seemed to be happening.

So Chris and Mike have done it! They have collected 16606 and lifted it back the approximate 400 Miles from Dublin, OH to DMC Midwest.

Today Chris Nicholson, PJ Grady UK & Michael McElhattan, DMC Midwest will travel from Crystal Lake, IL, to Dublin, OH to pick up my DMC-12.

16606 has got 13,000 miles on the clock. Learning this got me thinking about the distance involved with its journey home.

I’ve just received these additional photos of 16606, I’ve learned the location of the car presently is not Illinois, rather in Dublin, Ohio.

after almost a lifetime (since1981) of secretly harbouring a desire to own a DeLorean DMC-12 I’ve dived in and done something about it.
