Following my last post on 30th August 2023 I was notified that readers were faced with frustrating pop-ups by the host site "tumblr". It seems that in an attempt to increase its subscriber base, tumblr was "forcing" readers to sign up for an account in order to read blogs unhindered. What with the increased advertising placement I decided I needed to move away from that platform to spare my readers from this hassle.
This new site is provided and hosted by Wix.com. I'm using the free version but apart from the banner at the very top of the site there is no advertising and no requirement for account creation.
As well as the blog itself, this site now allows users to filter blogs by category. Each post has a category that allows for filtering. There are also additional pages that will get populated over the next while. From the drop down menue in the header there is a photo gallery, a DeLorean 80's Retro page and a Back to the Future Related page that can be navigated to.
You will note that there are already many rather plain looking blog post entries. These are the 130+ posts that I've linked to on the tumblr site covering the purchase, import, restoration and post restoration activities. Reading via these embedded links appear to allow for this without the hinderances experienced when viewing on the main tumblr site, so I thought it would be good to make this historic content available.
Finally the drop down menu also enables the reader to sign-up, should they wish, to allow for notifications to be sent to them when new blogs and site updates are made. There are also comments. Comments can be left at the bottom of each blog post page for that specific post. Also comments can be left from the drop-down menu item in the header relevant to the site as a whole.
